For the longest time ever I have always felt that this would be the worst part about being psychic. Not only can you hear peoples thoughts, but you always hear their thoughts. It'd get boring after a while. Knowing what everyone has at the poker table, or when your girlfriend is thinking of cheating on you. It'd suck.

Yup. Lies can be useful, and more to the point, people can't control what they think nor do immediate thoughts represent overall feelings or desires.

Yeah. At the same time I can see this being incredibly annoying, because where in theory, humanity is not a hive mind, in practice, everyone is thinking the same thing on most occasions. And that's not just fact, that's me being cynical. Regardless, I would still love to be psychic. If for no other reason, than to just mess with my friends.
