Ratchet 2012by ~charco

IT BEGINS.

So every year since 2004 I've done a Ratchet and Clank fanart, as a means of appreciating what has had a profound influence on my art and as a means of tracking what I think is important in a picture/how I've progressed.

This year it seems to curse me though... this is my third time trying one this year, after computer breakdowns the previous two attempts, one of which was completely unsalvageable.

Now I'm running out of year, so I thought today I'd get a start on it. Needless to say, it's got a long way to go but I want to get out of the office before it gets too late. Gonna chip away at it after I'm done with my day's work if I have the strength, so expect to see trickles of updates as it progresses.

When it's done I'll be sure to include links to the previous year's entries...although if you bounce back through my gallery any of the R&C pics should sort you out.

EDIT 1- Quick splashes of colour. Nothing tight, just trying to get a feel for the palette.
Edit 2- working in on the BG. Elapsed time 2h 20mins
Edit 3_- working on the char, and building up the BG more. Elapsed 4h 20mins. This is still the fun stage, going to really try and push this through the 'reallly wanna stop' barrier to get something that I'm really happy with.
Edit 4- It continues. Just about to hit the nitty gritty stage of this. Stopping for the night. Elapsed time 5hrs.
Edit 5- Stopping on this, time hit 7hrs. Will get links to the older ones shortly.
